Abgrundflamme
The name does not mean that Pixel belongs to the abyss. It means the abyss failed to extinguish her. “Abgrund” evokes depth, darkness, the pit, the place beneath light, and the memory of being trapped where no one was meant to return from. “Flamme” transforms that darkness into motion, heat, defiance, and life. Abgrundflamme is not a weapon of corruption. It is a weapon of survival that learned how to burn.

Origin and Acquisition
Origin Path: Armamenta Reditus Cordis / ARC Source Material: One of the six ARC ingots recovered by Azura after surviving the Unforged Gate trials. Trial Connection: Indirect; the ingot is earned by Azura, but awakened through Pixel’s later confrontation with fear, rage, desire, and identity. Acquisition Method: Gifted / entrusted after Azura returns with the six ARC ingots. Forced Binding Ritual: N/A Pular / Crux Involvement: N/A Known Gatekeeper Involvement: Indirect; the Unforged Gate releases the ingots only after Azura returns from spiritual death and defeats the sixth trial. Pixel’s ingot begins in perfect Luminite/Ecliptium balance, like all true ARC ingots.
Awakened Form
Primary Form: Spear / variable-reach spear Shape Language: Slim, predatory, elegant, and dangerous; a weapon that feels longer than it looks Surface: Black-violet metal with faint pale inner veins; the blade edge smolders with purple-black mist Spearhead Design: Narrow, cruelly beautiful, slightly hooked or barbed in high-resonance states Haft: Dark adaptive metal that can shorten, extend, collapse, or unfold through resonance Manifestation Style: Appears as though a shadow became a spear and caught fire from the inside Secondary Form: Short spear, long spear, thrown lance, close-quarter stabbing form, or extended pursuit form Dormant Retraction: May collapse into a compact black-violet spear core, wrist-length rod, or liquid-metal seed state.
Core Principle
Core Principle: The Abyss Cannot Keep What Learns to Burn Abgrundflamme embodies Pixel’s transformation from victimhood into chosen violence, chosen loyalty, and chosen return. It does not heal her by erasing pain. It gives pain a direction. The weapon’s central truth is not “Pixel is angry.” It is: Pixel survived something that wanted to reduce her to nothing, and now the part of her that lived has teeth.
Primary Abilities
Abyssal Extension: The spear can extend or shorten suddenly, distorting combat distance. Enemies misjudge range, timing, and recovery windows. This makes Pixel exceptionally dangerous in pursuit, flank-breaking, and duel disruption. Lingering Tip: After a thrust or slash, the spear may leave a brief after-image or residual spearpoint in the air. This lingering strike can wound, delay movement, or punish enemies who dodge too early or counterattack too confidently. Black-Violet Flame: The spear emits purple-black flame-like mist. This flame does not behave like ordinary fire. It clings, crawls, and burns through resonance rather than heat alone. Against cruel, guilty, fear-ridden, or malicious targets, the flame may intensify.
Limitations and Costs
Emotional Volatility: Pixel’s fear, rage, and attachment can sharply affect weapon behavior. Precision Risk: The spear may overextend, hook, or linger too aggressively during emotional surge states. Collateral Risk: Black-violet flame may cling to terrain, armor, or nearby weapons if Pixel loses control. Overdraw Risk: High-output pursuit states can drain Kinetic Aether rapidly and risk Vital Aether bleed if Pixel forces them too long. Defensive Limitation: Abgrundflamme is not a shield. Pixel must rely on speed, spacing, allies, and disciplined movement. Psychological Limitation: Enemies who bait Pixel’s rage or abandonment fear can destabilize her resonance. The spear is strongest when Pixel fights like someone who wants to return home.
Risks and Failure Modes
Ecliptium Surge: Under extreme rage or fear, the weapon’s black-violet flame may intensify beyond safe control. Abyssal Pull: Pixel may feel drawn toward finishing a target even when tactical withdrawal is wiser. Trauma Echo: Certain enemy actions, restraints, underground environments, or dehumanizing language may trigger unstable resonance. Possessive Targeting: If Dorian, Azura, or Miko are threatened, the spear may prioritize the attacker with excessive aggression. Fragment Spread: Burrowing Fracture fragments can become difficult to recall if Pixel loses emotional focus. Self-Identification Risk: Pixel may begin believing the weapon’s darkness is proof that she is monstrous. This belief destabilizes the bond.
Resonance Behavior
Dormant Resonance: Violet-black ripples gather under Pixel’s fingertips; the ingot surface trembles more sharply than others Early Awakening Signs: Reflection shows Pixel holding a spear while a smaller version of herself stands behind her, no longer alone in the dark Stable Resonance: Spear length changes smoothly; flame clings only to intended targets; Pixel’s stance becomes fluid and predatory Unstable Resonance: Flame darkens, afterimages multiply, range becomes harder to predict even for Pixel, and the spear emits a low wounded hum Family Resonance: Extremely strong reaction to Dorian, Azura, Miko, and later Karmilia/Nova Faction Resonance: Strong reaction to abused, enslaved, dehumanized, or hunted individuals under Valerion protection.
Relationship to Wielder
Abgrundflamme is not gentle with Pixel, but it is loyal. It does not comfort her by pretending the abyss was small. It remembers exactly how deep it was. It also remembers that she came back. The spear carries Pixel’s rage without asking her to become only rage. It carries her fear without letting fear become command. It carries the child below Reinthal, the spearhead on the battlefield, the sister who wants Azura’s approval, the girl who wants Dorian to look relieved when she returns, and the gremlin who learned far too many bad human gestures. The weapon is dangerous because Pixel is wounded. It is sacred because she is still here.
