The Krey Industry

Overview

Description

The Krey Industry is not just a megacorp—it is a web. A sprawling, elegant, and inescapable network of commerce, smuggling, research, and influence spun across both Earth and Karthaheim. Publicly, they deal in logistics, exotic goods, transportation, and arms brokerage. Privately, they broker flesh, forbidden tech, and secrets harvested from both the living and the dead.

Led by the elusive Nyxthalia Nightlace, known to some as the Queen of Spiders, the Krey Industry functions on one core principle:

“Profit is sacred. Loyalty is rented. Influence is eternal.”

Krey agents are welcome in nearly every city, fortress, and criminal den—from the sky-slums of Earth’s Orbital Rings to the acid-misted docks of Tajujura. They fund wars, then offer reconstruction. They arm kings, then insure assassins. They do not pick sides. They invest in them.

“The world doesn’t need to burn, darling. It just needs to simmer. And we’ll be the ones stirring the pot.”
— Nyxthalia Nightlace, speaking to a Vultaire envoy over silk-glass wine

History

Founded shortly after the First Collapse of interplanar trade, the Krey Industry began as a humble freight and salvage operation based out of the black coast of Nareth’Ahn. With the backing of Nyxthalia—a highborn Feralis noble and cousin to Vampire Duke Alerron—the company grew quickly from seaport scavenger to planetary logistics empire.

Krey’s big break came during the “13-Day Stalemate” between Arachnos and Eclipse Aeterna. While the two factions clashed over voidcrystal extraction rights, the Krey Industry secretly installed underground smuggling tunnels beneath both forward bases—selling food, intel, and weapons to both sides. When the dust settled, their profits had quadrupled and both armies owed them favors.

The company has since diversified into everything from private R&D, cybernetic body part resale, soul-splinter trafficking, and rune-tech fabrication. Unlike other shadow syndicates, Krey operates with an unsettling level of professionalism—complete with HR departments, quarterly earnings reports, and branded uniforms for their smugglers.

Structure

  • Nyxthalia Nightlace – Supreme Chairwoman and operational mastermind. Rarely seen in public. Rumored to command psychic spiders that transmit reports directly into her mind.

  • The Thread Council – Regional governors and CFO-level minds who oversee global sectors. Some are human, others are genetically restructured beasts loyal only to dividends.

  • Weavers – Senior agents who manage contracts, trafficking routes, and clandestine operations. Known for their eloquence and venom.

  • Silken Ties – Friendly “external partners” who enjoy Krey’s favor: mercs, smugglers, assassins, even nobles. They get perks—until they don’t.

  • Drapes – Disposable agents, runners, hackers, and blackmarket interns. Lowest rank, highest turnover. Many rise. Most are left behind.

Despite the aristocratic sheen, Krey’s internal structure thrives on performance incentives. Loyalty is rewarded with wealth, enhancements, and protection. Failure is met with... liquidation.
