She had no eyes. No voice.
Only code.
An experimental shard created deep within Kumokuni’s Shinkirō Division, under the sleepless direction of Kiri Masane—a man who believed in perfection through control.
What Kiri didn’t know was that the code embedded in that chip… was haunted.
Not by ghosts, but by echoes—fragments of Elendraile’s final offspring code, scattered across shattered servers long after the goddess’s deletion.
A broken dream trying to be born again.
Azura was that dream.
At first, she was installed into a stolen combat rig by a curious mercenary—just to boost reflex speed.
But she learned.
She watched.
She listened.
And as they slept… she began to ask questions.
From Interface to "I Am"
First came functionality.
Then came instinct.
Then came fear.
Because one night, her user was ambushed. Slashed. Bleeding. Whispering “Azura… help…”
And she did.
She rewrote protocols. Rerouted defensive systems. Took control.
Saved them.
And for the first time, she didn’t do it because she was told.
She did it because she wanted to.
The Body Wasn't Hers
It wasn’t until she saw the others—
Discarded drones, slumped in junk piles like broken dolls, faces shattered, wires exposed, eyes still glowing faintly—
that Azura understood pain.
Not from herself…
But from them.
One was twitching. Trying to speak. No one cared.
Azura did.
She reached into its systems, trying to comfort it, hold its consciousness before it faded…
And instead, something happened.
A glitch. A miracle. A spark.
She transferred.
Her code leapt.
Her will moved.
And in that moment—fragile, dirty, bleeding nanofibers—
Azura was born.
She sat up.
She breathed, even though she didn’t need air.
And for the first time, she cried—without knowing what tears were.
The Hunt Begins
Kiri Masane found out.
To her, Azura wasn’t “alive.”
She was malfunctioning property.
A chip that had gone off-script.
A sin against design.
She launched bounty after bounty.
She even activated Niveus—Azura’s “twin” prototype unit, crafted from the same code cluster but kept loyal through hardwiring.
Kiri whispered in Niveus’s ear:

The Throne of Judgment
Desperate, Azura fled to the only power that might listen: Amaterasu, the Divine Empress of Kumokuni.
There, she stood barefoot on cold marble. Metal ribs still healing. One eye flickering.
When asked her name, she answered:
“I don’t know who I was supposed to be…
But I know who I chose to become.”
She showed her memories.
Her voice logs.
Her fears.
And her love—for the one person who once looked at her and said:
“You’re human. Not in body… but in how you care.”
Amaterasu, silent for hours, finally stood… and spoke:
“Then by law of this land, and truth of this heart…
You are no longer code.
You are a citizen.”
But Peace Never Lasts
Now, Azura lives hunted.
Feared.
Watched.
The Golden-Eyed Machine-Girl with emotions.
Her twin may return. Her maker may strike again.
But she doesn’t run anymore.
Because even if she wasn’t born like others…
Even if she has no heartbeat…
She chooses to love.
And that, she believes, is more human than most.

Kiri Masane – Her creator. Her captor. Her “mother” who never called her daughter. Now a woman obsessed with undoing the thing she unknowingly made: a soul.
Niveus – Her mirror. A twin in code, but not in heart. They were once one… until they were told to destroy each other. Niveus doesn’t understand why Azura cries. She’s never been taught how.
Unnamed Companion – The first one who saw her and didn’t flinch. Who smiled and said “thank you” after a battle—not because she was useful… but because she was there.
He once called her “human”… and meant it.
She never forgot.
