Description
The Reminisce of the Black Sun is a cult cloaked in academic ritual and prophetic dread, operating as the subversive outreach arm of the undead nation Umbral Vex. Publicly, they pose as a religious order dedicated to the preservation of memory, pain, and prophetic reconstruction of the past.
In truth, they are Nhafadi's mortal clergy, whispering her gospel of entropy and remembrance beneath the skin of foreign cities. They are the ones who prepare the minds, weaken the barriers, and ensure that when the veil is lifted… the world will already be halfway dead.
They carry mirrors instead of banners, and never speak of the future—only the past that refuses to stay buried.
History
Following the rise of Umbral Vex, the nation of the undead, it became clear that direct intervention in global politics would provoke immediate war. Thus was born the Reminisce of the Black Sun—a civilian-facing cult wrapped in art, architecture, and forgotten prophecy.
Their origin is tied to the discovery of the stained-glass window known as The Reminisce of the Black Sun, now housed within the Dusk Reliquary. The figures in the glass—five abstract beings locked in cosmic agony—became icons for the cult. One of them, the Blood-Stained Angel, is believed to be a mirrored manifestation of Nhafadi herself.
Umbral Vex funded, trained, and implanted the first generations of cultists, weaving their presence into black markets, ruins, and politically unstable zones. Over the years, the Reminiscents have grown autonomous… but they never forgot who gave them memory.
Structure
The Eclipsed One – The hidden, possibly eternal high priest. Rumored to be either a fragment of Nhafadi or a revenant made from stitched memories.
The Glassborn – High-ranking cultists who fuse shards of memory glass into their skin, allowing them to “remember deeper.”
Voices of the Reminisce – Interpreters of the stained-glass window, usually blindfolded or sensor-blocked to heighten internal vision.
Witnesses – Initiates who observe but never speak. They document memories and rituals, sometimes unknowingly channeling visions.
Every cell operates independently, connected only by fractal memory loops—encoded messages embedded in dreams, paintings, or the bloodstains of battlefield soil.
