Al Quasaran Burns
🎭 MQ1 – “When the Ground Breaks”
Synopsis:
The party returns to Al Quasaran with something they haven’t had in a long time: relief. Naide’s condition is stabilized. The sisters sit at the same table—not reconciled, but no longer enemies. They gather in a bar to celebrate quietly, letting themselves believe, just for a moment, that they survived.
A live news broadcast plays overhead, announcing the discovery of a new Helium-3 mine outside the city. Officials speak of energy independence and a brighter future. Mid-broadcast, the ground begins to shake. The feed jolts as the drilling station erupts in fire.
From the smoke rise Tetra Gammatron—not scouts, but an invading force. Lightning fractures the sky as a Deus Matris, She-of-Sparks, descends among them. This is not a raid.
Al Quasaran is under invasion.
Subquests:
“Celebration, Cut Short” – RP scene in the bar: relief, unresolved tension between the sisters, Naide adjusting to her new limits.
“Live from the Mine” – The broadcast collapses into chaos as the Helium-3 site is destroyed.
“She-of-Sparks” – Witness the arrival of the Deus Matris and the scale of the threat.
“No Time to Plan” – Sirens, fleeing civilians, mercs scrambling as the city begins to fall.
RP Hooks:
Naide starts to stand—then stops, remembering the seal.
Mio arms herself without hesitation.
Azura Mark I flags the threat as catastrophic and unusually coordinated.
A local mutters: “This isn’t war. This is harvesting.”
End State:
The party must choose—fight to defend Al Quasaran, or flee while escape is still possible.
There is no third option.
🎭 MQ2 – “Echoes in the Arsenal”
Synopsis:
As Al Quasaran burns, Azura Mark I identifies the invasion’s true nature. The Tetra Gammatron are not conquering—they are converging. They have followed her. To them, Azura Mark I is not a drone.
She is an unawakened god-fragment, carrying traces of Elendraile’s code.
Direct combat is futile. The Deus Matris will continue recycling fallen units indefinitely. Azura advises a tactical shift: retrieve EMP-grade weapons from a sealed city weapon vault. These weapons disrupt Gammatron swarm cohesion and deal amplified damage.
The vault lies deep within contested streets.
Subquests:
“Through Burning Blocks” – Fight through swarming Gammatron units in collapsing urban terrain.
“The Vault That Never Opens” – Breach a sealed weapons vault under fire.
“Old War Tools” – Secure EMP rifles, charges, or launchers tuned for machine warfare.
Mechanical Notes:
EMP weapons deal double damage to Gammatron units.
EMP effects briefly prevent recycling of destroyed units.
Swarms adapt faster if the party lingers.
RP Hooks:
Mio coordinates suppressive fire like a seasoned operator.
Naide fights carefully—never overextending, never breaking the seal.
Azura sounds… conflicted. “They think they are saving me.”
🎭 MQ3 – “The Wall That Still Stands”
Synopsis:
EMP weapons blunt the swarm—but do not stop it. Azura identifies the core problem: the Deus Matris, She-of-Sparks, is continuously fabricating and reconstituting Gammatron units.
Al Quasaran’s outer wall houses four dormant EMP cannons, relics of an older war. If activated and fired in sequence, they can overload She-of-Sparks’ outer systems and temporarily disable her production capability.
Each cannon must be reached, powered, loaded, and defended.
Subquests:
“Climb Under Fire” – Reach the city wall amid air strikes and lightning arcs.
“Hold the Line” – Defend each cannon while it charges.
“Four Shots or Nothing” – Fire all four cannons within a limited window.
Mechanical Notes:
Cannons must be fired in sequence, not simultaneously.
Gammatron swarms intensify with each shot.
Failure to defend a cannon resets progress.
RP Hooks:
Mio takes command naturally—no one argues.
Azura counts the shots softly, like a prayer.
Civilians cheer when the first cannon fires.
🎭 MQ4 – “Approach the God-Factory”
Synopsis:
The fourth EMP strike hits true.
She-of-Sparks falters.
Lightning gutters. Fabrication arrays grind to a halt. The swarm becomes erratic—but not passive. With production disabled, Gammatron units enter a frenzy, attempting to reclaim Azura at all costs.
Azura informs the party: this is the only window.
They must reach the Deus Matris’ core and allow Azura to interface directly.
Subquests:
“Through the Storm” – Push through collapsing defensive rings and berserk swarms.
“The Last Shield” – Disable the Deus Matris’ inner barrier.
“Stay Close” – Protect Azura while she establishes a hard link.
Mechanical Notes:
Gammatron units no longer recycle—but spawn density peaks.
Azura becomes a hard objective; if interrupted, the window closes.
Naide can assist tactically but cannot unleash her full abilities.
RP Hooks:
Azura admits she’s afraid—not of dying, but of being taken.
The Gammatron broadcast a single repeated signal: “RETURN”.
Mio realizes the machines are not enemies… just lost.
🎭 MQ5 – “The Soul of Sparks”
Synopsis:
Azura initiates a Soul Dive.
The battlefield dissolves.
The party enters the Deus Matris’ internal system—a vast digital dungeon of fragmented code, memory corridors, and ancient war-logic. This is not just a machine core. It is a myth-engine, carrying the echoes of a forgotten war.
Within the system, truths emerge:
Tetra Gammatron were created to fight Karthaheim, when humanity faced annihilation.
The control network meant to command them was corrupted—by unknown forces.
Deprived of hierarchy, the Gammatron evolved: adaptive, creative, disobedient.
The Deus Matris were built to mother them… but never taught how to let go.
The dungeon is hostile, defensive, and confused.
Subquests:
“Corridors of Origin” – Navigate shifting data-mazes and memory constructs.
“Ghosts of the First War” – Battle security entities shaped like ancient enemies.
“The Broken Crown” – Confront the corrupted core logic of She-of-Sparks.
Mechanical Notes:
This is a symbolic dungeon: puzzles, logic challenges, and emotional trials.
Combat represents ideological conflict, not just damage.
Azura must reach the core node to issue the retreat command.
Resolution:
Azura does not destroy She-of-Sparks.
She commands her to sleep.
The Gammatron receive the order to retreat—not as enemies defeated, but as children finally released from a failed purpose.
The invasion ends.
Not with victory.
With silence.
