Labyrinth of Silent Scream
🎭MQ1 – "Trigger Point"
The PCs make their move. Could be triggered by a facility malfunction, Rykka’s help, or a staged accident in the testing chambers.
Options:
Trigger a psionic backlash to cause confusion
Hack the dampener grid and fry nearby control systems
Use stolen guard credentials to open an auxiliary door
Side Hook: “Collateral”
Save (or sacrifice) a friendly NPC left behind. Adds stress and splits the party’s priorities.Twist:
Hollow Core AI activates defensive lockdown.
Facility begins sealing sections progressively.
🎭MQ2 – "The Maze of Steel"
PCs navigate through the labyrinthine hallways of Bastion Thorne. Automated defenses, drones, and hostile guards are everywhere.
Stealth Path:
Sneak through vent systems, suspended maintenance walkways
Cloak movements with psionic interference or hacked cameras
Combat Path:
Take out patrols and fight your way through containment corridors
Use jury-rigged gear scavenged along the way (EMP knives, shock rifles, suppressant gas)
Side Quest: “The Black Box”
Optional: PCs find a locked data cache from Project Aegis Null. Downloading it could help in the future—but adds time and heat.
🎭MQ3 – "The Soul Reprocessing Wing"
A detour (or forced reroute) leads the PCs through Bio-Reclamation Sector—where Psynapse-09 is synthesized. Corpses in tanks. Machinery humming. Mutant waste.
Encounter:
Unstable failed subjects (half-psionic, half-liquefied monsters)
Mutation gas leak triggers hallucinations or psychic dissonance
Side Hook: “What Could Have Been”
PCs find an older test subject hooked up to an extractor. Conscious. Speaking. They beg for release—or to be ended.Lore Bomb:
The PCs see evidence they were already scheduled for recycling in less than 72 hours.
🎭MQ4 – "Core Lockdown Protocols"
As the escape escalates, the facility triggers Level 5 Quarantine. Security mechs, defense turrets, and emergency containment units activate.
Goal:
Reach Security Hub to disable lockdown doors
Download a base schematic or elevator override
Subquests:
Convince a surviving officer to cooperate
Trick the AI systems using a decoy psionic signal
Branching Choice:
Free the other detained test subjects (potential allies… or unpredictable risks)
Leave them locked to avoid detection
🎭MQ5 – "Crossing the Hollow"
To reach the hangars or surface tram, PCs must pass over or near the Hollow Core Vault—a glass-suspended chamber where liquefaction continues… with failed Dämmerlicht still alive in agony.
Options:
Take the bridge and risk detection
Rappel under the vault structure through exposed pipes and vents
Horror Beat:
The voices of the nearly-dead call out to the PCs—some by name. One whispers something they shouldn't know.
🎭MQ6 – "Break the Seal"
Final confrontation at the surface gates or tram lift. Bastion Thorne deploys its elite suppression unit: Black Vulture Squad or a psionically-enhanced enforcer prototype.
Boss Fight (Optional):
Psionically boosted human enemy (e.g., Prototype Theta-1)
Mech/Drone hybrid with suppressant fields
Subquests:
Activate the tram or call the evac dropship
Protect the wounded or secure escape codes
🎭MQ7 – "Fallout"
The escape succeeds… partially. A PC may be wounded, an NPC lost, or one captured again.
Consequences:
PCs are now marked as fugitives
Military labels them as biohazard threats
Their escape triggers Recuperatoris Protocol, a global initiative to locate and eliminate psionic defectors
Hooks for Next Chapter:
One PC shows early symptoms of Psynapse Drift—an unstable condition linked to Hollow Core exposure
An unknown faction intercepts the tram signal. They're not military… but they knew the PCs were escaping
